A man was injured in a shooting in Joniškis district, while another man was wounded with a suspected knife in Kaunas, LRT reported, citing the police.
Police said a 46-year-old man allegedly fired a legally held low-power Alfa 640 revolver at a 36-year-old man during a conflict at a home in Kalnelis village, Joniškis district, at about 9 p.m. on Friday. Both men were intoxicated.
The injured man, who had a blood alcohol level of 1.54 per mille, was taken from the home to a hospital in Šiauliai and admitted for treatment. The suspected shooter had a blood alcohol level of 1.24 per mille. The firearm and ammunition were seized, and the suspect was detained.
An investigation has been opened into causing physical pain or a minor health impairment.
In Kaunas, a 27-year-old intoxicated man was possibly wounded with a knife during a conflict involving five people in a park on Vinco Krėvės Avenue at about 8.20 p.m. on Saturday, police said.
The man refused a sobriety test and was treated as an outpatient after receiving medical care. An investigation has been launched into disturbing public order.
