Heavy rain and thunderstorms forecast across Lithuania on Saturday

LRT reports that short, locally heavy rain showers, thunderstorms and small hail are expected in many parts of Lithuania on Saturday, according to Tadas Kantautas, a forecaster with the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service.

The day will be cloudy with sunny intervals. Thunderstorms are expected across much of the country, and stronger wind gusts could reach 15 to 20 metres per second. Despite the rain, temperatures will rise to 23 to 28 degrees Celsius in most areas and 20 to 22 degrees in western Lithuania.

Rain will begin to recede on Sunday. Some areas will still see short, locally heavy showers and thunderstorms overnight, with temperatures of 12 to 17 degrees. During the day, the rain and clouds will move away, leaving partly cloudy conditions and plenty of sunshine. Temperatures will reach 21 to 26 degrees.

Monday is expected to be dry, with mostly clear skies and light winds. Overnight temperatures will fall to 8 to 13 degrees, while daytime temperatures will reach 22 to 27 degrees.

Dry and calm weather will continue on Tuesday, when temperatures are forecast to rise to 25 to 30 degrees.
