Sinkevičius forms team with six advisors, two previously worked with Ruginienė

Lithuanian Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius has so far assembled a team of six advisors, two of whom previously worked with former Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė, ELTA reports.

According to Gedas Salyga, an advisor to Sinkevičius, the team formation is an ongoing process. He stated that the prime minister maintains continuous communication with political team members, Government Chancellery experts, and ministers, ensuring the implementation of the Government’s program from the first days.

“The public will be informed without delay about all changes in the prime minister’s team,” Salyga said.

The current team includes Giedrė Purvaneckienė (family policy), Salyga (press representative), Darius Kuolys (culture), former Health Minister Marija Jakubauskienė (health), and Dalia Markinienė (IT and digitalisation). Jovita Stanevičiūtė, previously head of the Communications Division at Jonava District Municipality, has also joined as an advisor for communication and youth affairs.

Ruginienė’s team previously had 13 advisors. Earlier, Sinkevičius had stated that a significant portion of his team would include people who worked with Ruginienė. However, only Purvaneckienė and Markinienė from the current six advisors have prior experience in her team.

Brigita Šlepetienė, who previously worked with Sinkevičius at Jonava District Municipality, was appointed to lead the prime minister’s office. Tomas Daukantas was delegated to the position of Government Chancellor.

Sinkevičius’ Government was formed by the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party, the Democratic Union “For Lithuania,” and the Lithuanian Farmers, Greens, and Christian Families Union factions in the Seimas.
