Fire breaks out after car and motorcycle collision in Kaunas district

Firefighters in Kaunas district extinguished a blaze after a car and a motorcycle collided and caught fire on the Via Baltica highway on Sunday, LRT reports.

The emergency services received a call at 12:02 PM about the crash between a car and a motorcycle in Kaunas district. Both vehicles were engulfed in flames, according to Giedrius Vaičiulis, senior specialist at the Situation Coordination Division of the Fire and Rescue Department.

Firefighters worked to extinguish the fire, and no one was trapped in the vehicles. Two people traveling on the motorcycle were taken to a hospital.

A similar incident occurred in Kėdainiai district at 11:20 AM, where a car and a motorcycle also collided. The car carried four people, and the driver, uninjured, exited the vehicle on their own. The motorcycle rider, who was conscious, was transported to a medical facility. Rescue workers had to remove the damaged vehicles from the road.
