Military helicopter deployed for organ transport

A Lithuanian Air Force helicopter was deployed on Saturday to transport a donor organ following a request from the National Transplant Bureau, LRT.lt reports.

The Mi-8T helicopter took off from the 2nd Search and Rescue Post in Kaunas at approximately 13:45. After successfully completing the mission, it returned to Kaunas at around 14:55, delivering the transplant team.

Organ transport is one of the Lithuanian military’s peacetime tasks. The Air Force transports donor organs under a cooperation agreement with the National Transplant Bureau.
