Three tonnes of suspected moonshine mash found on Telšiai district farm
Police in Lithuania’s Telšiai district have discovered around three tonnes of mash suspected to be intended for homemade moonshine production, LRT reports.
According to the Klaipėda County Chief Police Commissariat, officers working with environmental protection specialists found approximately 40 litres of liquid emitting a distinct odour characteristic of moonshine, along with 2–3 tonnes of mash, during a nighttime operation on Thursday around 00:30 in Drobūkščiai village.
A pre-trial investigation has been launched into the alleged illegal production, storage, transportation, or sale of homemade strong alcoholic beverages, undenatured or denatured ethyl alcohol, or their solutions and mixtures.
