Firefighters respond to car fire report in underground parking near government building

Firefighters were called to the government building in Vilnius on Tuesday after reports of a burning car in an underground parking garage, LRT reports.

The emergency services received a call at 10:27 AM stating that a passenger car was on fire in the underground parking lot beneath the Kudirkos Avenue area. Upon arrival, firefighters observed smoke and declared the incident contained by 10:52 AM.

Jolita Orentaitė, head of the Communications Division at the Fire and Rescue Department, confirmed that while the situation was under control, authorities had not yet determined whether the source of the fire was indeed a car.
