Short showers expected this week, warmer and drier weekend ahead

The Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service forecasts short showers in many areas this week, with temperatures remaining modest, but a warmer and drier weekend is on the horizon, according to a report by LRT RADIJAS and LRT.lt.

On Wednesday, brief showers are expected in many regions, with some areas experiencing heavier rain and possible thunderstorms. Cloud cover will be variable, with more sunshine and less rain in the northeastern regions. Winds will be northwesterly to westerly at 8–13 m/s, with temperatures ranging from 16 to 21°C.

Thursday will see a slight change in weather as pressure drops and a new rain band moves in. Short showers, occasionally heavy—especially in western regions—may be accompanied by thunderstorms. Winds will be variable, light at night and 4–9 m/s during the day. Nighttime temperatures will be 10–15°C, with daytime highs of 16–21°C.

From Friday, pressure will rise as the cyclone moves eastward. The day will be somewhat drier, though brief showers may still occur in places, without thunderstorms or heavy rain. Winds will be light, with temperatures ranging from 9–14°C at night to 18–23°C during the day.

According to forecasters, the weekend is expected to be drier and warmer. Saturday may see brief showers in some areas, while Sunday currently has no significant rain forecast. Temperatures will be more pleasant, reaching 19–24°C on Saturday and 21–26°C on Sunday. Early next week is also expected to see less rain.
