Lithuania’s Hydrometeorological Service has forecast rain across much of the country on Monday, with thunderstorms and strong winds in some areas, LRT reports.

Synoptist Ineta Daunoravičiūtė told LRT Radio that a cyclone moving north from the south will bring cloudy skies with occasional sunshine, but widespread rain is expected. The heaviest downpours are likely in western regions, with rain intensifying in the north as the cyclone progresses. Thunderstorms are possible in places, accompanied by strengthening westerly winds of 9–14 m/s, with gusts reaching 15–18 m/s in some areas.

Temperatures will range between 15–20°C in most regions, with western Lithuania remaining the coolest due to persistent rain. Eastern areas may see highs of 22°C.

On Monday night, the cyclone will briefly weaken, reducing rainfall, though some showers may persist. Temperatures will drop to 10–15°C. Tuesday will see further rain clouds spreading across the country, with possible thunderstorms and coastal wind gusts of 15–20 m/s. Daytime temperatures will reach 17–22°C.

Short bursts of rain are expected on Wednesday, both day and night, with similar temperatures. Thursday will remain wet, but from Friday, higher pressure is forecast to push the rain away, bringing slightly warmer conditions of 18–23°C.
