Forecasters predict rain and cooler temperatures ahead
Lithuania is set for wetter and cooler weather this weekend, according to the country’s Hydrometeorological Service.
Sinoptikė Elena Klyukina told LRT RADIJAS that Saturday will remain very warm but with widespread showers. Conditions will turn noticeably cooler at the start of next week.
“The weather changes will definitely be felt,” Klyukina said.
On Saturday, skies will be partly cloudy with scattered showers, occasional thunderstorms, and gusty winds reaching 15–20 m/s in places, particularly in the west. Temperatures will range from 23–28°C inland, with cooler coastal areas seeing 20–22°C.
Sunday will bring brief rain in some areas, with lingering thunderstorm risks. Winds will ease slightly but remain strong, blowing from the southwest or west at 7–12 m/s. Overnight temperatures will drop to 13–18°C, with daytime highs of 21–26°C (18–20°C on the coast).
A new cyclone approaching Lithuania will bring further changes early next week. Monday will see widespread rain, locally heavy with thunderstorms, and strong northwest winds gusting up to 15–20 m/s, or 25 m/s on the coast. Temperatures will fall to 11–16°C at night and 15–20°C during the day, reaching 21–24°C only in the eastern regions.
