Lithuania’s new energy minister assembles political team
Lithuania’s newly appointed Energy Minister Lukas Savickas has formed his full political team, the state news agency ELTA reports.
The team includes the ministry’s chancellor, four vice ministers, and three ministerial advisors. Eglė Radišauskienė, former chancellor of the Economy and Innovation Ministry and director general of the Lithuanian Business Confederation, has been appointed chancellor of the Energy Ministry.
The vice ministers are Ignas Junevičius, current head of Litgrid’s Renewable Energy Resources Centre; former Economy and Innovation Vice Minister Darius Indriūnas; and Gabriel Gorbačevski, who previously served in the Energy Ministry. A fourth vice minister will join in August after fulfilling current professional commitments. This official will oversee Lithuania’s EU Council presidency energy agenda, international and EU affairs, consumer protection, pricing, and energy efficiency.
The minister’s advisors are Virgilijus Poderys, former head of the energy regulator and companies Litgrid and EPSO-G; strategic communications specialist Artūras Ketlerius; and Ervinas Šurka, formerly an advisor to Seimas members.
Most team members begin work immediately, with the remaining members to join after completing their existing obligations.
Savickas previously served as Economy and Innovation Minister in the 19th Government led by Gintautas Paluckas.
