Vladislav Kondratovich to become chancellor of Environment Ministry

Outgoing Interior Minister Vladislav Kondratovich will take up the position of chancellor at the Environment Ministry, the 15min news portal reported on Tuesday, citing sources within the ruling Social Democratic Party.

The changes were discussed at a Social Democratic Party presidium meeting on Monday.

Meanwhile, Kristupas Vaitiekūnas, who is stepping down as finance minister, will continue his work as deputy foreign minister. Interim Culture Minister Vaida Aleknavičienė will take over the leadership of the Seimas Culture Committee from Kęstutis Vilkauskas. Laura Asadauskaitė-Zadneprovskienė, an Olympic champion and chair of the Seimas Youth and Sports Affairs Committee, will also step down from her position.

The new government led by Mindaugas Sinkevičius is expected to be sworn in at the Seimas on Tuesday, pending parliamentary approval of its programme.
