Man faces court for selling cannabis to minors in Gargždai

A resident of Gargždai is facing court in Klaipėda after prosecutors accused him of possessing large quantities of drugs with intent to distribute, including sales to minors, LRT reports.

According to the case, two minors allegedly arranged to buy cannabis from the man in Klaipėda on 7 April 2025. Police later seized the drugs and arrested the suspect the same day after he sold cannabis to another individual. A search of his home uncovered more than 611 grams of the substance.

Prosecutors have charged the man with illegal possession of narcotic or psychotropic substances with intent to distribute, as well as large-scale possession and distribution of such substances to minors. Two minors and one adult also face charges for illegal possession of narcotic or psychotropic substances without intent to distribute.

A temporary restriction has been placed on the suspect’s assets, exceeding €5,000, with authorities seeking confiscation. Under Lithuanian law, distributing narcotic or psychotropic substances to minors can result in a prison sentence of 3 to 12 years.
