Weekend forecast promises rain and mild temperatures
Lithuania is set for a wet and mildly warm weekend, according to the country’s hydrometeorological service, as reported by LRT.
Saturday will be overcast with short bursts of rain expected in many areas, including heavy showers with thunderstorms in some places. Winds will be strong, primarily from the west, with speeds of 9–14 m/s. Gusts may reach 15–20 m/s, particularly along the coast and in southwestern Lithuania. Temperatures will peak at 17–22°C.
Sunday will also bring rain, with short showers and possible thunderstorms during the day. Winds will remain strong, with coastal gusts up to 15 m/s. Temperatures will again hover around a mild 17–22°C.
The start of the new week offers little change, according to forecaster Janas Vaitkevičius. Monday will see more short rain showers, with westerly and southwesterly winds of 8–13 m/s, and coastal gusts of 15–17 m/s. Overnight temperatures will drop to 11–16°C, while daytime highs will reach 18–23°C.
