Weekend forecast: rain expected across Lithuania, thunderstorms in places

Rain is expected across much of Lithuania this weekend, with heavy downpours and thunderstorms in some areas, according to the country’s Hydrometeorological Service.

Speaking to LRT RADIJAS and LRT.lt, synoptist Paulius Starkus said showers will be widespread on Friday, particularly in the eastern part of the country in the morning and the west later in the day. Some areas will experience heavy rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds reaching 15–22 m/s. Temperatures will range from 18–20°C in the west to 21–23°C in the east.

Saturday will see frequent showers nationwide, with thunderstorms and gusts of up to 20 m/s. Nighttime temperatures will drop to 12–17°C, while daytime highs will reach 17–22°C. On Sunday, rain will ease slightly but thunderstorms remain possible, with temperatures between 11–16°C at night and 18–23°C during the day.

The unsettled weather is expected to continue into Monday and Tuesday, with scattered showers and similar temperatures persisting.
