Man’s body found in Plungė reservoir

A man’s body was found in a reservoir in Plungė on Sunday, police reported.

The emergency response centre received a report in the afternoon about a person drowning in the Gandinga hydroelectric plant reservoir. Rescue teams were dispatched, but the body was not located initially.

According to the Klaipėda County Chief Police Commissariat, the body of a man born in 1986 was later discovered around 19:30 in the reservoir near Gandinga Street in Plungė. An investigation into the cause of death has been launched.
