A national remembrance action, Atminties neištremsi (We Will Not Forget), was held in Vilnius on June 14 to mark the Day of Mourning and Hope and the Day of Occupation and Genocide, reported LRT.lt, ELTA, and BNS.

The civic initiative, organized by the Lithuanian Youth Organizations Council (LiJOT), invited the public to read the names and fates of those exiled and politically imprisoned under Soviet repression. The event took place near the Museum of Occupations and Freedom Fights in Vilnius, with continuous readings of names and stories throughout the day.

Lithuania’s top leaders, including President Gitanas Nausėda and Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė, participated by reading the names of the exiles.

Atminties neištremsi is an annual event held on June 14, aiming to preserve the historical memory of those affected by Soviet repression through the public recitation of their names and experiences.
