A new public services centre housing five institutions will be built in the Sendvaris eldership of Klaipėda district, the local municipality has announced.

The facility will host the Paupys Primary Healthcare Centre, branches of the Klaipėda District Public Health Bureau and the J. Lankutis Library, as well as the Sendvaris Eldership administration and the Sendvaris Social Services Centre. Community spaces will also be included.

According to Klaipėda District Mayor Bronius Markauskas, the investment in the centre and surrounding infrastructure could exceed €8 million. He described the project as one of the most significant investments in the rapidly growing area, ensuring residents receive essential services closer to home.

“Over the next few years, an impressive complex will rise in Mazūriškiai, which I believe will become a symbol of the eldership’s uniqueness and help shape its visual and architectural identity,” Markauskas said.

The municipality has signed a contract with competition winner Urbanistinė Architektūra for the preparation of design proposals, technical work, and project supervision. The contract is valued at just over €382,000, with the company committed to delivering the project within a year.

The architecture firm designed the centre as a community hub, integrating administrative, social, health, and cultural functions into a modern and convenient public services ecosystem.

A presentation of the architectural vision for the public services centre will be held for Sendvaris residents on Monday at the J. Lankutis Public Library’s Sendvaris “Saulė” branch.
