Rainy weather to persist in Lithuania through early next week
Lithuania will see continued wet and cool conditions this weekend and into the start of next week, according to Ineta Daunoravičiūtė, a synoptician at the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service, as reported by LRT RADIJAS and LRT.lt.
Saturday will bring another round of rain across the country. Western regions may experience heavy morning showers, with thick rain clouds forming in the afternoon. Short bursts of rain are expected nationwide, with a higher likelihood of intense downpours in western Lithuania. Thunderstorms are also possible in some areas, accompanied by moderate, shifting winds that may reach gusts of 15–17 m/s during storms. Daytime temperatures will range between 16–21°C due to the overcast and rainy conditions.
Sunday’s weather will remain largely unchanged, with persistent cloud cover and widespread rain. Thunderstorms may occur in some regions, and winds from the southwest and west will strengthen to 7–12 m/s during the day, weakening slightly at night. Temperatures will stay similar, with lows of 7–12°C and highs of 14–19°C.
The beginning of the new workweek will offer little relief. Monday and Tuesday will see continued short-term rain showers in many areas, with overnight temperatures holding between 7–12°C and daytime highs of 14–19°C. A shift is expected only by midweek, when the rain is forecast to gradually subside, and daytime temperatures may rise above 20°C.
