No illegal migrants recorded at Lithuania-Belarus border for twelfth consecutive day
Lithuania’s State Border Guard Service reported on Saturday that no illegal migrants were recorded at the country’s border with Belarus for the twelfth consecutive day.
Latvian border guards turned back 155 migrants on Friday, while Polish authorities reported none on Thursday.
This year, Lithuania has denied entry to 775 illegal migrants. In 2025, there were over 1,600 attempts to enter the country illegally from Belarus, compared to 1,002 in 2024.
Since the start of the migration crisis instigated by Belarus, Lithuanian border guards have prevented more than 25,300 foreigners from entering the country illegally. The influx of migrants to the EU’s eastern members via Belarus began in 2021, with Western nations accusing Minsk of orchestrating the crisis.
