Fire extinguished at Malsena company’s above-ground tank in Vievis

An above-ground storage tank caught fire on Friday evening at the premises of grain processing company Malsena in Vievis, Elektrėnai municipality, reported LRT.

Initial reports from the Emergency Assistance Centre at 18:16 indicated an open flame from a paraffin tank on Stoties Street in Vievis. The Fire and Rescue Department later clarified that the fire involved insulation material of an above-ground tank located on Malsena’s property.

Firefighting units from the Vilnius County Fire and Rescue Service were dispatched to the scene. The Fire and Rescue Department confirmed the blaze was extinguished by 21:21. Preliminary information suggests no injuries were reported.
