Headline: Head of Lithuania’s IT and Communications Department steps down

The director of Lithuania’s IT and Communications Department, Viktorija Rūkštelė, is leaving her post, the Interior Ministry announced on Wednesday.

According to the ministry, Rūkštelė’s departure follows reports of around 50 potentially compromised assignments within the Interior Ministry’s systems. Her resignation was by mutual agreement.

Artūras Kavolis, the department’s deputy director, will take over as acting head. Rūkštelė had led the department since June 26, 2023.
