Rain and thunderstorms expected across Lithuania at the start of the week

Scattered showers and isolated heavy downpours are forecast for much of Lithuania on Monday, according to the country’s Hydrometeorological Service.

Meteorologist Ineta Daunoravičiūtė told LRT that brief but intense rain, accompanied by thunderstorms, is likely in many regions, particularly in western areas. Winds will be moderate, with gusts reaching 15–17 m/s. Daytime temperatures will range from 17°C to 22°C, with the warmest conditions in central and southern districts.

Rainfall will ease on Tuesday, with only light showers expected in the early hours of the night. Fog may form, and overnight temperatures will drop to 9–14°C. Daytime conditions will improve, with sunshine breaking through in places and only isolated showers possible. Highs will reach 21–26°C.

Wednesday will bring further scattered showers, mainly overnight and briefly during the day. Winds will shift from southeasterly to southwesterly, at 4–9 m/s. Nighttime lows will be 11–16°C, with daytime highs of 17–22°C.
