Šarūnė Butkuvienė appointed head of Panevėžys District Court

courts, judicial appointments, PanevėžysJudge Šarūnė Butkuvienė has taken over as head of the Panevėžys District Court, the institution announced on Monday, according to a report by the BNS news agency.
Butkuvienė, who previously served as the court’s deputy chair, replaces Virginija Breskienė, who led the court for two consecutive terms since 2016. The position of deputy chair had also been vacant and will now be filled by Nida Solovjovienė, a judge from Biržai District Court.
A native of Panevėžys, Butkuvienė began her legal career as a judge’s assistant before becoming a judge at Pasvalys District Court in 2015. She joined Panevėžys District Court as deputy chair in 2020 and has been a member of the Judicial System Awards Commission since 2024.
