Vilnius woman transfers €14,000 to scammers after fake healing offer
A 73-year-old resident of Vilnius transferred €14,006 to scammers after encountering a fraudulent advertisement for “sacral healing” on Facebook, the Lithuanian Police Department reported Tuesday.
The woman, born in 1952, made the payments between April 21 and May 29 while at home in the capital, authorities said. Police have launched a pre-trial investigation into the suspected fraud.
The case was first reported by Lithuanian public broadcaster LRT.
