A gas cylinder explosion triggered a fire in Vilnius district on Thursday, injuring a woman, Lithuanian public broadcaster LRT reports.
The incident occurred in Juodšiliai village, where emergency services received a call at 12:35 PM local time. Firefighters arrived to find an open flame engulfing the wooden terrace of a two-storey brick house, according to Edita Zdanevičienė, a spokesperson for the Fire Protection and Rescue Department (PAGD).
Five fire trucks were deployed to extinguish the blaze. Crews entered the home and removed five gas cylinders—three large and two smaller—from the premises, Zdanevičienė said. The injured woman was transported to hospital for treatment.
Firefighting operations remain ongoing at the scene.
