An Indian citizen faces up to 15 years in prison after Lithuanian prosecutors filed charges for the large-scale acquisition, storage, transport, and distribution of narcotic and psychotropic substances, LRT.lt reports.

According to the Kaunas Regional Prosecutor’s Office, authorities seized over 7 kilograms of crystalline substance containing a high concentration of cocaine during searches in Vilnius, Kaišiadorys district, and the suspect’s residence in late 2025. Investigators allege the drugs were transported from Vilnius to Kaišiadorys, where some were prepared for further distribution.

The suspect concealed portions of the substances in his car—inside a backpack, the passenger cabin, a food delivery bag, and the trunk. Prosecutors have classified the case under Article 260 of Lithuania’s Criminal Code, which carries a prison sentence of 10 to 15 years for offenses involving particularly large quantities of narcotics.

The case has been transferred to the Kaunas Regional Court for trial. The pretrial investigation was led by prosecutor Nomeda Urbonavičienė of the Organized Crime and Corruption Division, with support from Kaunas County Police’s Organized Crime Investigation Board.
