Lithuanian president condemns Russia’s mass attack on Ukraine as deliberate terror

Lithuania’s President Gitanas Nausėda has condemned Russia’s overnight mass strike on Ukraine, calling civilian terror a core tactic of Moscow’s war, LRT reports.

In a statement posted Sunday on social media platform X, Nausėda said the large-scale attack on Kyiv demonstrated that “terror against civilian populations remains the Kremlin’s primary weapon of war.”

“Hundreds of drones and missiles launched at night into residential areas, schools, and civilian infrastructure only further expose Russia’s brutality and utter disregard for human life,” he wrote. “Russia will be held accountable. We will continue to support Ukraine for as long as it takes.”

The overnight assault involved around 600 drones and 90 missiles, including a hypersonic “Orešnik” medium-range missile, according to Ukrainian officials. The strikes followed Russian threats of retaliation for Ukrainian attacks on Moscow-occupied eastern Ukraine.
