Weekend weather brings rain, thunderstorms and cool temperatures
Lithuania can expect unsettled weather this weekend, with rain, thunderstorms and cool temperatures forecast across much of the country, the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service told public broadcaster LRT on Saturday.
A weather front moving in from the south will bring mostly cloudy skies on Saturday, with scattered showers developing in the afternoon—particularly in eastern and central regions, where isolated thunderstorms are also possible. Winds will remain light and variable.
Temperatures will vary significantly, reaching 16–21°C in most areas but only 10–15°C in the west. Coastal regions will be the coolest, with highs of just 10–12°C.
Sunday will see little improvement, with overcast skies and patchy rain—again focused in the east and centre—along with possible thunderstorms and fog. Overnight lows will drop to 6–11°C in most areas, though clearer western regions may see temperatures fall to 3–5°C.
Daytime highs on Sunday will range from 12–17°C nationwide, climbing to 18–23°C in the east where skies will gradually clear. Scattered thunderstorms may still occur in isolated areas.
Conditions will shift on Monday, with more sunshine breaking through and only brief, light showers. Winds will stay light, and temperatures will rise to 18–23°C during the day after overnight lows of 7–12°C.
