Lithuanian president calls any drone entering national airspace a threat

Any drone entering Lithuania’s airspace poses a security risk, President Gitanas Nausėda said Thursday, as reported by public broadcaster LRT.

Speaking at a joint press conference with Finland’s president, Nausėda stressed that Lithuania must ensure its skies remain secure and free from foreign drones. “Every drone entering Lithuanian territory is a threat because we don’t know its origin, destination, or intentions,” he stated.

The president underscored that safeguarding citizens is the country’s top priority as an independent state. “It should be obvious that the safety of our people is our primary task,” he added.
