Lithuania’s State Border Guard Service (VSAT) recorded no attempts by irregular migrants to cross from Belarus for the sixth day in a row, while Latvian authorities intercepted 94 individuals over the same period, LRT reports.

Lithuanian border guards last detected and turned back seven migrants on May 7. Polish border authorities also reported no interceptions on Monday and Tuesday.

Since the start of the Belarus-orchestrated migration crisis, Lithuanian officials have blocked entry to approximately 25,300 irregular migrants. In 2025, authorities prevented 1,600 unauthorised crossings, compared to 724 so far this year.

The influx of migrants into Eastern EU states via Belarus began in 2021, with Western governments accusing Minsk of weaponising migration.
