Lithuania to see overcast and cool weather on Wednesday, warming trend later in the week

Lithuania will experience cool and overcast conditions on Wednesday, with a gradual shift toward warmer, more summer-like weather by the weekend, according to the country’s Hydrometeorological Service.

Paulius Starkus, a synoptic forecaster, told national broadcaster LRT that Wednesday will bring mostly cloudy skies, with occasional light rain. Northeastern regions will see the most persistent precipitation, particularly in the morning, while the southwest may experience brief showers in the afternoon. Winds will be moderate, blowing from the west and southwest, with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 15°C. The coolest conditions will be in the north, while southern areas will reach 14–15°C.

Thursday will see a transition, with clouds dispersing more quickly. Some areas may still experience brief rain, with overnight lows of 2–7°C and possible ground frost in places, dropping to 0–5°C. Daytime temperatures will climb to 14–19°C, with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in the west. Winds will shift to the south and southeast, gaining some strength.

The warming trend will continue into Friday, with overnight ground frost possible in some areas (0–3°C). Daytime highs will reach 17–22°C, with only brief, isolated showers. The weekend forecast calls for temperatures of 17–23°C, with occasional short rain and thunderstorms, marking a shift toward more typical summer weather.
