A Lithuanian court will this week examine a complaint filed by the defence lawyer for Justina Gaigalaitė, the former wife of murdered paramedic Mantas Sadauskas, challenging her two-month pre-trial detention, LRT reports.

Panevėžys Regional Court received the complaint from attorney Vaidotas Sviderskis last week, according to court representative Jolita Gudelienė. The hearing is scheduled for Thursday afternoon.

Sviderskis has previously stated that Gaigalaitė denies all charges in the killing of her ex-husband. The lawyer has argued that, based on available evidence, his client is innocent, though he has not disclosed what specific remedies he will seek in the complaint.

Gaigalaitė is one of three suspects in the case. She was remanded in custody for two months on suspicion of intentional murder and unlawful deprivation of liberty. Another suspect, Ilja Solkanas, was released on 5,000 euro bail, while Vilius Solkanas remains detained for two months.

Sadauskas’ body was discovered on April 21 buried on a property in Panevėžys district, wrapped in a trampoline. Investigators suspect the murder may be linked to personal conflicts. A weapon was recovered at the scene.

Sadauskas, who rented out trampolines, had reported receiving an order to deliver one to a kindergarten before his disappearance. Authorities later found that the customer’s details had been deleted and the listed kindergarten did not exist.
