Lithuanian border guards recorded no attempts by illegal migrants to cross from Belarus for the second consecutive day, the State Border Guard Service announced Sunday.

Meanwhile, Latvian authorities reported intercepting 106 foreign nationals on Saturday. The previous day, Latvian officers recorded 136 attempts to cross the border, with 131 similar attempts documented on Thursday. Polish border guards, however, reported no illegal migrant activity on Friday.

Since the start of this year, Lithuania has prevented 724 unauthorised border crossings from Belarus. In 2025, there were over 1,600 such attempts, compared to 1,002 in 2024.

The influx of migrants into eastern EU states via Belarus began in 2021, with Western officials accusing Minsk of orchestrating the crisis. To date, Lithuanian border guards have blocked more than 25,000 unauthorised entries since the start of the migration surge.
