Lithuania to see clearing skies but frost expected overnight

Cloud cover will gradually disperse across Lithuania on Monday, though frost remains likely in some areas, the country’s Hydrometeorological Service reports.

According to forecaster Tadas Kantautas, Sunday will bring mostly overcast skies nationwide, with light rain and drizzle in places—particularly in eastern regions. Western Lithuania will see more sunshine, with clouds thinning in the evening. Temperatures will range from 9°C to 14°C in most areas, climbing to 15–18°C in the west where clearer conditions prevail. Winds will be moderate, blowing from the northwest and west.

Monday will bring clearer, drier, and warmer weather as overnight clouds dissipate. No rain is expected, and winds will ease to a light breeze. However, temperatures will drop sharply at night, reaching 0–5°C by morning, with ground frost of –1°C to –6°C possible in places.

Daytime highs on Monday will reach 16–21°C as warmer air moves in from the south and southeast. Tuesday will see increasing cloud cover ahead of an approaching low-pressure system from the southwest, with scattered showers likely—first in western regions overnight, then spreading eastward. Winds will shift from southeast to west and northwest, remaining moderate. Nighttime lows will hover at 6–11°C, with daytime highs of 10–15°C, though eastern areas may still see 16–20°C.
