Lithuanian border guards reported no attempts by irregular migrants to cross from Belarus over the past week, the State Border Guard Service (VSAT) announced on Saturday. Meanwhile, Latvian authorities turned back 136 foreigners on Friday, while Polish officials recorded no unauthorised border crossings on Thursday.

Since the start of this year, Lithuania has denied entry to 724 irregular migrants. In 2025, there were over 1,600 recorded attempts to enter the country illegally from Belarus, compared to 1,002 such cases the previous year.

Since the migration crisis orchestrated by Belarus began, Lithuanian border guards have prevented more than 25,000 foreigners from entering the country illegally. The influx of migrants to the EU’s eastern borders via Belarus started in 2021, with Western officials accusing Minsk of deliberately facilitating the movement.
