Cloudy weekend ahead but warmer weather expected next week

Lithuania will see overcast skies and scattered rain this weekend, though temperatures are forecast to rise early next week, according to the country’s hydrometeorological service.

Speaking to public broadcaster LRT, forecaster Simona Dalinkevičiūtė said Saturday will bring widespread cloud cover and showers across most regions, driven by a low-pressure system. Rainfall will be most persistent inland, while coastal and western areas remain relatively drier. Winds will stay strong, blowing from the north, with daytime highs ranging from 7°C to 12°C—reaching up to 17°C in western districts.

Overnight into Sunday, light rain will continue in many areas but ease in intensity. Minimum temperatures will dip to 2–7°C, with moderate winds persisting. Sunday will see partial clearing, though eastern Lithuania may still experience isolated showers. Daytime temperatures will climb to 10–15°C, peaking at 17–18°C in the west.

Early next week, conditions will turn drier. Monday night will be mostly rain-free, but temperatures will drop sharply to 1–6°C, with patchy ground frost possible. Daytime highs will reach 15–20°C. Tuesday will bring heavier overnight rain and brief daytime showers, with lows of 5–10°C and highs of 9–14°C.
