Sweden’s King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia will visit Lithuania this month, the presidential office announced on Tuesday.
The royal couple will meet with President Gitanas Nausėda on May 18 and officially open a new palliative care hospital in Vilnius, according to the statement.
This will not be the first visit by the Swedish royals to Lithuania. King Carl XVI Gustaf first traveled to the country in 1992, with the most recent official visit taking place in 2015.
The announcement follows Nausėda’s own visit to Sweden earlier this week, where he and the king discussed bilateral historical ties, cultural cooperation, and security in the Nordic-Baltic region.
