Kelmė district council member Lina Samulytė dies at 49

Lina Samulytė, a member of Kelmė district municipal council and leader of the opposition, has died after a battle with serious illness, the council administration announced on Thursday. She was 49.

Samulytė was elected to the council in 2023 as a candidate for the Lithuanian Green Party. In 2024, she ran unsuccessfully for parliament with the Regional Party. The municipality expressed condolences to her family, loved ones, and colleagues.
