Cooler weather arrives with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms

Cooler air has reached Lithuania, bringing brief showers and gusty winds to much of the country, the state broadcaster LRT reports.

Scattered rain is expected nationwide on Wednesday, with thunderstorms possible—particularly in western regions—according to Simona Dalinkevičiūtė, a forecaster at the Hydrometeorological Service. Northeasterly winds will strengthen, reaching up to 15 m/s along the coast. Temperatures will range from 13–18°C in most areas, though southeastern regions may see highs of 19–24°C.

Showers will persist into Thursday and Friday, with overnight temperatures dropping to 5–10°C. Daytime highs on Thursday will be cooler, at 11–16°C in most areas and 17–22°C in the southeast. Winds will ease to 7–12 m/s.

By Friday, rain will taper off, though isolated showers remain possible in the southeast. Nighttime lows will fall to 2–7°C, with ground frost of 0–5°C in northern areas. Daytime temperatures will reach 11–16°C.

The weekend is forecast to be drier, with overnight lows of 2–7°C and daytime highs of 14–19°C. Ground frost may occur in some areas.
