Lithuanian border guards prevented 38 irregular migrants from entering the country from Belarus on Friday, the State Border Guard Service (VSAT) reported.

Latvia’s border service turned away 51 migrants over the same period, while Polish authorities recorded no attempts on Thursday. Since the start of the year, Lithuanian officials have blocked 705 individuals from crossing illegally from Belarus, compared to over 1,600 in 2025.

Since the migration crisis orchestrated by Belarus began in 2021, Lithuania has denied entry to approximately 25,300 irregular migrants. The influx followed accusations from Western nations that Minsk was weaponising migration against neighbouring EU states.
