Three people in Vilnius have lost a combined total of more than €22,300 to telephone scammers, according to a report by the Vilnius County Chief Police Commissariat, as cited by LRT.

A 78-year-old woman reported to authorities on Thursday that unknown individuals, posing as employees of an investment fund and a bank, had defrauded her of €16,305 between February 20 and April 14 while she was at home.

Another woman, aged 65, contacted police the same day, stating that Russian-speaking scammers—claiming to be telecommunications company employees—had tricked her into handing over her bank card on Monday. The fraudsters then withdrew €1,700 from her account.

A third victim, a 35-year-old woman, reported that after clicking a malicious link and entering her online banking details on Thursday, €4,348 was stolen from her account.

Pre-trial investigations for fraud have been launched in all three cases.
