A farewell ceremony for paramedic Mantas Sadauskas, who was killed earlier this week, has begun in Panevėžys, reports LRT. Family, friends, and colleagues gathered at the city’s “Ramybės takas” funeral home on Saturday afternoon to pay their respects, with the final procession scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m.

Sadauskas’ body was discovered Tuesday on a property in Panevėžys district. Investigators believe he was shot and his body wrapped in a trampoline before being buried on the premises. A weapon was recovered at the scene.

The 36-year-old paramedic, who also ran a trampoline rental business, had told his father on Monday morning that he was delivering a trampoline to a children’s party at a kindergarten. After his disappearance, authorities found that the customer’s details had been deleted, and no such kindergarten existed at the given address.

Police suspect the murder may have stemmed from a personal conflict. Three individuals have been detained in connection with the case. A Panevėžys district court ruled Thursday to remand Sadauskas’ estranged wife, Justina Sadauskienė, in custody for two months on charges of murder and unlawful deprivation of liberty.

Another suspect, Ilja Solkan—father of a third detainee, Vilius Solkan—was released on 5,000 euro bail. Vilius Solkan remains in pretrial detention for two months.
