Klaipėda man faces trial for distributing €200,000 worth of drugs
A 27-year-old resident of Klaipėda will stand trial on charges of large-scale drug possession and distribution after prosecutors completed a pre-trial investigation, state broadcaster LRT reports.
According to the Klaipėda Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the man allegedly stored and sold narcotics—primarily cocaine—across various locations in the port city, with buyers receiving coordinates to hidden stashes. The drugs, valued at around €200,000 on the black market, included approximately 2.4 kg of cocaine, doping substances, a vacuum-sealing machine, and scales.
Investigators from the Klaipėda County Chief Police Commissariat’s Organised Crime Unit launched the case in September 2025 following reports of drug sales in an online group. Buyers reportedly paid in cryptocurrency before receiving pickup locations. The suspect, who has no prior convictions, was detained in October 2025 during a raid on his home in Klaipėda’s Taikos Prospect.
He remains in pre-trial detention, the strictest preventive measure under Lithuanian law. If convicted of large-scale drug trafficking, he faces 10 to 15 years in prison. The case has been transferred to the Klaipėda Regional Court for proceedings.
