Two suspects arrested after €27,700 cash robbery in Kaunas
Two men have been detained in Kaunas after robbing €27,700 in cash during a cryptocurrency transaction, Lithuanian public broadcaster LRT reports.
According to the Police Department, the incident occurred on Monday afternoon around 3:30 PM on 9th Forto Street. A 22-year-old man was purchasing cryptocurrency in his car when an unknown assailant approached, assaulted him, and seized €27,700 in cash.
Police later apprehended two suspects—a 25-year-old and a 23-year-old—who have been placed in custody. A pre-trial investigation for robbery has been launched. Authorities have not confirmed whether the stolen money has been recovered.
