Off-duty police officer in Palanga suspected of assaulting woman
A police officer in the Lithuanian resort town of Palanga is under investigation for allegedly assaulting a woman while off duty, public broadcaster LRT reports.
According to the Police Department, a 29-year-old woman filed a complaint on Sunday at 5:59 PM at the Klaipėda City Police Commissariat. She stated that on Saturday around 10:50 PM, she was assaulted on Darbėnų Street in Palanga by an off-duty officer from the Klaipėda County Chief Police Commissariat, born in 1986, who was not in uniform at the time.
A pre-trial investigation has been launched on suspicion of causing physical pain or minor bodily harm. The circumstances of the incident are currently under investigation.
