Man dies in apartment fire in Klaipėda district

A man has died in a residential fire in Klaipėda district, Lithuanian public broadcaster LRT reported on Thursday.

The blaze broke out at around 15:45 in an apartment in Vėžaičiai, a town in Klaipėda district. The victim, a 77-year-old man born in 1947, was the apartment’s owner, according to the Police Department.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway, with police launching a pre-trial inquiry to determine the circumstances of the death.
