Man found dead in Trakai district, suspect detained

A 65-year-old man was found dead at a homestead in Trakai district on Thursday evening, with a 43-year-old suspect now in custody, Lithuanian public broadcaster LRT reports.

According to the Police Department, officers discovered the body of the property owner, born in 1961, in the yard of a homestead in Žalioji village at approximately 5:35 PM. A second man, born in 1963, was found nearby with injuries and taken to hospital.

A 43-year-old suspect, born in 1982, has been detained in connection with the incident. Police have launched a pre-trial investigation into murder, as well as a separate probe for causing minor bodily harm.
