Police find 99 suspected drug packages during vehicle inspection in Alytus
Lithuanian police have discovered 99 plastic bags containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be narcotics during an inspection of a car in Alytus, state news agency ELTA reported Friday.
The vehicle, an Opel Vectra, was examined at a local car dismantling facility. Officers found a bundle wrapped in foil inside the trunk, containing the 99 polyethylene bags along with a digital scale and €40 in cash.
A pre-trial investigation has been launched under Article 259, Part 1 of Lithuania’s Criminal Code, which pertains to drug-related offences.
