Man accused of beating teenage son in Klaipėda district

A 47-year-old man in Klaipėda district is under investigation after allegedly assaulting his 16-year-old son, leaving the teenager hospitalised, LRT reports.

The incident occurred late Wednesday evening around 11 p.m. in the village of Grabiai, according to the Lithuanian Police Department. The father forced his son into a car, drove a short distance from their home, and then physically attacked him.

The victim, born in 2010, was taken to Klaipėda Hospital for observation. Authorities have launched a pre-trial investigation into charges of causing physical pain or minor health impairment to a close relative or family member.
